The casino was kind of sad if you're used to Las Vegas its probably more on par with state line. I think if we ever went back, I'd probably want to share one entree with my wife. My wife had the special which was a filet mignon risotto which was very rich, and she couldn't finish it. I had the Pollo Parmigiana which was good, but not the best I've ver had. When we got there, we were hungry, so we ate at the Italian restaurant, 'Mama's Cucina Italiana.' Service was good, and the food was good (not great), but it was very expensive. (BE CAREFUL with the mini-bar- Everything is expensive and if you move anything they automatically charge you for it). Each room had a refrigerator stocked with a mini-bar.
There were two or three free bottles of water. My mother had an adjoining room with two queen size beds. The bathrooms are huge containing separate shower and bathtub. We had a room with a single King size bed and they supplied us with a crib as we requested. The valet staff and bell staff were friendly and helpful. The property is well maintained, and the landscaping is nicely groomed. My brother had a promotion where the rates were very good, and we figured it would be a fun stop.
We stayed at Pala for one night on our way to Mexico.
